Free scholarships from Tamwood, Canada

The language school hosting the 2012 workshop for the International Association of Language Centres (Ialc) is offering a scholarship each week to education agents who register to attend the event in Toronto in April next year.

Tamwood Language Centres are generously donating a two-week tuition scholarship from a draw each week and the first lucky winner has already been notified: Elena Tejedor from Aula Inglés in Spain.
All contenders remain in the draw each week – all the more reason to register and apply sooner rather than later, say the event organisers.
The workshop takes place April 19-22 and enables education agents to meet up around 100 members of the association, all of which are independently operated, high quality language schools in locations around the world.
Tamsin Plaxton, co-owner of Tamwood Language Centres, told The PIE: “We came up with the idea for the draw as a way to get people excited about the workshop and get agents to sign up early. Also, we wanted to use social media so we are posting the video of the live draw on the IALC and Tamwood Facebook pages and on the IALC website.”
Registrations for the workshop have jumped up since the announcement of the weekly draw.  ”We are well ahead of agent applications for the workshop compared to this date last year,” said Plaxton, adding, “The mix of nationalities for agents attending the workshop is really quite interesting.”
