African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks to transform Africa by developing a powerful network of 6,000 leaders who will work together to achieve extraordinary social impact. Each year, we bring together the most promising young leaders from all 54 African nations for a pre-university program at our world-class boarding school in South Africa. At the Academy, students complete a unique curriculum focused on leadership, entrepreneurship and African studies. We then continue to cultivate these leaders throughout their lives, in university and beyond, by providing ongoing leadership training and connecting them to high-impact networks of people and capital that can catalyze large-scale change. We aim to develop the future Nelson Mandela, the next Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and the African Bill Gates and Jonas Salk.
